Washing Machine Repair in Rocky Mount, NC

What goes wrong most often
Washer will not drain
About forty percent of our drain calls are the drain pump filter. On LG, Samsung and Bosch front-loaders that is a small access panel at the lower right of the front of the machine. Open it, place a towel, unscrew the filter, and you are likely to find a sock, a hair tie or a coin. If that fixes it, great. If the filter is clear and the machine still will not drain, the drain pump motor itself is the next suspect, followed by the pressure switch.
Washer not spinning, or spinning slowly
Top-loaders have lid lock switches that fail in the on or off state and stop the spin cycle cold. On Whirlpool Cabrio and Maytag Bravos, the shifter assembly is the leading cause; we keep stock of W10913953. Front-loaders that vibrate badly during spin usually have worn drum bearings or a broken shock absorber. Bearing replacement is a four-hour bench job and we will tell you if it is worth doing on your specific model.
Loud noises during cycle
A grinding or rumbling that starts low and gets louder over weeks is almost always a tub bearing. Tub bearings are repairable on Whirlpool and Maytag but not always economical on cheaper front-load units. We will be straight on that math when we open it up.
Error codes
LG OE, NF, LE, UE. Samsung 4E, 5E, dC, LE. Whirlpool F21, F02, LF. Each has a specific meaning and a specific repair flow. If you read us your model number and code over the phone, we can usually narrow it down to two or three parts and tell you whether the truck has what you need.
Water on the floor
Leaks during fill are usually the inlet valve or the hot/cold supply hoses. Leaks during wash are the boot seal on a front-loader. Leaks during drain are the drain pump or the drain hose itself. We work the diagnosis by which part of the cycle is leaking.

Three things you can check before calling us
- Check the drain pump filter. Lower right kickplate on most front-loaders. Place a towel, unscrew slowly, expect water. Look for foreign objects. This fixes maybe one in four no-drain calls.
- Pull the drain hose out of the standpipe. Make sure it is not lower than the bottom of the tub (that creates a siphon and constant drain) and not kinked.
- Reset the machine. Unplug for ninety seconds. On HE top-loaders, lift the lid six times within twelve seconds to clear the calibration. If the error returns immediately, you need a service call.
FAQ
Is a front-load drum bearing rebuild worth it?
On a six-year-old machine with no other issues, usually yes. On a ten-year-old machine that is already on its second control board, probably not. Tell us the make, model and age when you call and we will run the math.
Do you work on stacked washer-dryer units?
Yes. Stacked LG WashTowers, Samsung FlexWash and the older GE Spacemakers are routine for us. We carry the brackets and harnesses to unstack and restack safely.
What about Speed Queen commercial-grade machines?

Can I run the machine while it is leaking?
No. Even a small leak can ruin a subfloor in days. Shut off the water at the wall and call us. We hold same-day slots for active leaks.
Will my Rocky Mount water hardness affect the repair life?
