A dishwasher leaves dishes wet, films them with white residue, or pools an inch of water in the bottom by morning. Eastern North Carolina water hardness varies a lot from neighborhood to neighborhood; the same brand fails differently in Rocky Mount city water than it does on a well in eastern Edgecombe County. We work that variable into every diagnosis.

The most common dishwasher complaint. Trace the drain path from inside the tub outward: drain hose loop under the sink (must rise above the disposal), the disposal knockout plug (often left in by installers), the air gap if you have one, and the drain pump itself. Bosch and Whirlpool drain pumps both have known impeller failure modes; we stock both.
This is hardness or rinse aid related in eighty percent of cases. We check the rinse-aid level first, then the water hardness, then the spray arms for clogged jets. KitchenAid and Bosch dishwashers have water-softener modules built in for hard-water installations; we can program those in a couple of minutes.
The bi-metal release in the door dispenser fails on Whirlpool and KitchenAid models around year five. The repair is the dispenser assembly. We stock the most common Whirlpool and KitchenAid versions and the GE replacements.
The door switch is the first check, the latch assembly is the second. Bosch units have a particular door-switch wiring harness that wears at the hinge; we have a stock harness for that exact failure. Touch-control panels on KitchenAid and Whirlpool flagship units fail in clusters around years three to five, and we replace the user interface board when needed.
Wash motors and chopper blades wear down. If your dishwasher sounds like a coffee grinder on the wash cycle, the chopper or wash impeller is the issue. We carry the Bosch wash motor stack and the KitchenAid sump assembly.
Bosch and KitchenAid are the most common premium installs in Rocky Mount remodels. Whirlpool and GE dominate the mid-range. Samsung and LG dishwashers have come down in failure rate over the past three years but still show more electronics-related problems than the legacy brands. Frigidaire dishwasher work is mostly drain pump and door latch.

Installer left the disposal knockout plug in. It is the single most common new-install fault we see. We can remove it in five minutes; if you are handy, a hammer and screwdriver through the disposal inlet does it.
Yes. Run your sink hot for thirty seconds before you start the dishwasher. Most cycles will start with whatever temperature water is in the line, and cold water at the start of the cycle ruins detergent activation.
Different, not harder. Bosch builds with more torx and proprietary fasteners; parts come from a different supply chain. We are stocked for both.
Most NC code installs are hardwired. We can disconnect and reconnect without an electrician for routine service. For panel-side issues we will tell you when to bring an electrician in.
If you live in a household with a busy kitchen we recommend pairing dishwasher service with a quick oven check on the same visit; it saves a trip fee. The repair or replace guide covers when a dishwasher past year ten is worth fixing.
