We have been fixing appliances in Rocky Mount, NC since 2008. We are a small shop on purpose. Three techs, one apprentice, and a dispatcher who has been answering Eastern NC appliance calls since the Bush administration. Every truck stocks parts for the brands this region actually owns; every tech has the manufacturer training certificates to back the work; and every job is documented on paper before we collect a dollar.
The shop was started in 2008 by an Eastern NC native who had spent eight years working appliance service for a national big-box chain. He was tired of two things: pushing customers toward replacements when the repair was the right call, and the call-center model that sent him out to a stranger's house with no idea what the failure actually was. The shop was built around the opposite of both. We answer our own phone. We read the symptom before we drive. We tell customers when the repair makes sense and when it does not.
The shop on Albemarle Avenue has been the same address since 2011. We outgrew our first space inside three years. The current building has a small parts counter that is open to the public, a service bay where we rebuild and bench-test appliances that need more time than a customer's kitchen can spare, and an office where the dispatcher handles every incoming call.
