Gas surface burner clicks but will not light
Step one is always dry the burner: lift the cap, wipe the electrode and the burner head dry. If clicking continues with no flame, the spark module is the next stop. Whirlpool and GE Profile spark modules fail at the relay layer; we replace them with OE parts. On Samsung and LG gas ranges the spark module and the harness fail together more often than not.
Electric coil burner not heating
Pull the burner up out of its receptacle, look at the receptacle for arcing damage, swap the burner with a known good one in another position. That isolates burner versus receptacle in sixty seconds. We stock universal receptacles and burner sets for the common Whirlpool, GE and Frigidaire coil ranges.
Glass-top burner not heating evenly
Radiant elements under glass tops fail more often than the glass cracks. We pull the glass top, replace the element, reseat the glass and recalibrate the infinite switch if needed.
Induction cooktop displays code E2, U or F0
Induction units throw codes when the internal cooling fan slows or when a capacitor on the generator board degrades. Both are repairable but require pulling the unit from the countertop. We carry the GE and Frigidaire induction cooling fans; Bosch and Wolf induction parts we order in.
Downdraft fan not working
Jenn-Air and Whirlpool downdraft ranges have a fan motor that lives under the cooktop. Failures show up as weak draw or loud rattling. We rebuild the assembly and clean grease buildup from the duct path.

FAQ
My gas burner clicks even when the knob is off. Why?
Usually moisture in the spark switch, but sometimes a stuck spark switch. Wipe down the cooktop and let it sit; if it keeps clicking after thirty minutes, you need a service call.
Can a cracked glass top be replaced?
Yes, the cooktop is a replaceable assembly. Whether it pencils out depends on the brand. We will quote both the glass and a comparable new range so you can choose.
Are induction cooktops worth repairing?
Usually yes. The chassis lasts decades; what fails is the generator board, which is a $400 to $700 repair. Compared to a $2,500 replacement that is an easy decision in most cases.
Do you work on pro-style ranges like Wolf and Viking?
Yes. We carry Wolf surface burner kits and Viking spark electrodes. Heavy oven work on those brands is a half-day visit.
